Meet Christy!
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 10 years of experience serving individuals and families in the Fort Collins, Colorado area.
Throughout my career, I have worked both within the school system as a Mental Health Specialist and in private practice, helping clients navigate life's challenges with compassion, understanding, and practical support.
I specialize in working with trauma, anxiety, and depression. My approach is grounded in the understanding that our experiences shape how our brains and nervous systems respond to the world. I am trained in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT), which focuses on brain development, regulation, and healing, as well as LENS Neurofeedback, a gentle, noninvasive approach that supports improved brain functioning and emotional well-being.
I believe therapy should be a place where you feel safe, understood, and accepted. Clients often describe me as warm, compassionate, and approachable, and I believe that humor can be an important part of the healing process. Whether you're struggling with the effects of trauma, feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, or feeling like you’ve lost the core of who you are, I strive to create a supportive environment where meaningful growth and change can occur.
When you visit my practice, you may also meet Sherman, my lovable Golden Retriever therapy dog. Sherman has a special way of helping people feel comfortable and at ease, bringing an extra layer of connection and comfort to the therapeutic experience.
Healing happens through relationships, regulation, and resilience. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, strengthen your coping skills, and move toward a life that feels more balanced, connected, and fulfilling.
